Current Hall Layout (October 2000)
Case 2. Single source (#2) located at the back of the second violin section; Listener #1 on the right side of the hall half-way back; Listener #2 near the left rear corner.

Figure 1. Parametric view of hall and stage; red “2” is the sound source (back of the 2nd violin section). Listeners #1 and #2 are shown in blue.

Figure 2. Plan view of hall and stage; red “2” is the sound source (back of the 2nd violin section). ). Listeners #1 and #2 are shown in blue.

Figure 3. Early Decay Time (EDT)throughout the hall for source “2” behind the proscenium. Typical Decay times between 1.0 and 1.5 seconds are shorter than desired indicating the hall is “dry”. This corresponds with reports from performers and audience.

Figure 4. Clarity throughout the hall for a source “2”. The left side of the hall hears no direct sound from source “2”, only reflections of it from the right wall that arrive ~0.05 seconds after direct sounds from other sources on stage. This hurts “blend” and “synchronicity” for music played in the hall.
