Current Hall Layout (Wood Ceiling replaced with Plaster)

Case 2. Single source (#2) located at the back of the second violin section; Listener #1 on the right side of the hall half-way back; Listener #2 near the left rear corner.

Figure 1. Parametric view of hall and stage; red “2” is the sound source (back of the 2nd violin section). Listeners #1 and #2 are shown in blue.

Figure 2. Plan view of hall and stage; red “2” is the sound source (back of the 2nd violin section). ). Listeners #1 and #2 are shown in blue.

Figure 3. Early Decay Time (EDT)throughout the hall for source “2” behind the proscenium. Typical Decay times of 2 to 3 seconds are somewhat longer than desired.

Figure 4. Clarity throughout the hall for a source “2”. The left side of the hall hears no direct sound from source “2”, only reflections of it from the right wall that arrive ~0.05 seconds after direct sounds from other sources on stage. This hurts “blend” and “synchronicity” for music played in the hall.
